Program Note

Considering the role of an etude as well as the independence as a solo piece, this piece requires not only clear and sharp rhythmic gesture but also accurate finger isolation and balance in order to express the shimmering color of harmonies and reveal the melody passages on the surface. As this piece consistently flows but in different pulse every time, I tried to create some fun irregular abrupt moments and falling flowing motions in similar timbre of pitch/intervallic materials.

I hope the pianist who plays this piece can feel excitement to show their rhythmical capacity and timbre control on the stage so that the whole piece can be a big shout and energy bursting to the audience,
